Pre-School to High School

Maranatha offers a child care center starting at toddlers (12 months) up to pre-kindergarten, a pre-school program, a full-day kindergarten program, elementary school, and a junior and senior high school. The beautiful campus is surrounded by grass, trees, and farm animals and promotes a safe, secure, and relaxed atmosphere. We emphasize traditional academic excellence with a strong emphasis on college prep in the high school, including Advanced Placement courses in most areas. All areas incorporate a non-denominational Christ-centered educational philosophy.

Student Body

Maranatha is designed to meet the spiritual, emotional, and educational needs of every student attending, regardless of race, color or national origin. We encourage students to develop to their fulle/files/General/Senior Group.jpgst potential in all areas.  We strongly support families; therefore, we promote activities that are designed for the healthy enjoyment, spiritual welfare, and the education of the entire family, on and off campus.  We endeavor to provide an environment in which children are protected and allowed to enjoy the wonder of childhood.  As they grow and mature, topics are presented from a Christian worldview - always emphasizing the Scriptural plan, order, and promises we have as children of God.  It is our desire to present the world with godly, wise, positive, and self-controlled young adults as they exit our halls of learning.

Curriculum

The curriculum used at Maranatha is traditional and Christ-centered in its philosophy, and is of such high quality that our stude/files/General/Student at Desk.jpgnts consistently score well above the national norm on the annual achievement tests.  Reading is taught exclusively with phonics. Our curriculum is constantly reviewed to insure that our students excel in academics. Most of our graduates go on to college and receive scholarships due to their level of academic excellence.
Maranatha is a member of the National Honor Society, and each year inducts 10th-12th grade students with GPA’s of 3.5 or higher. Our Christian school does not exist for academic excellence only, but for the sake of fulfilling God’s commands concerning Biblical education, as found in Deuteronomy  6:7; Proverbs 22:6; and 2 Timothy 3:15-17. We believe it is imperative to follow a curriculum that is based in the Word of God.

Electives/files/General/Drafting.jpg

The elementary school has a physical education program as well as art, and music (including Elementary Honors Choir for grades 3-6).  Every grade level presents music performances. We have an on-campus piano instructor and bi-yearly recitals. The junior and senior high offers the electives of choir, speech and drama, art, yearbook, computer, drafting, cooking/sewing, and foreign languages. Students are given the option to compete each year in spelling bees, speech meets, art competitions, and the CACS Music Festival/Academic Competition held each March.

Special Annual Events

/files/Academics/Junior Senior High/homecoming parade_Resized_342x228.jpgOur junior and senior high school students have the opportunity to participate in extra-curricular activities that are sponsored by Student Council.  Students celebrate “Homecoming” each fall and winter with various fun activities and a special banquet.  There is also a formal banquet in the spring.

Other events at Maranatha include sports awards, drama presentations, a school play, seasonal music programs (performed by the choirs and chorale), monthly music programs performed by a different elementary grade each month, and academic awards programs. Students are encouraged to participate in yearly service projects including Operation Christmas Child and Compa Food Outreach.

Licensed Child Care & Pre-School

Maranatha has a state-licensed child care center for toddlers starting at 12 months and walking up through pre-kindergarten. Our child care program pro/files/Academics/Child Care/child care classroom_Resized_209x307.jpgvides a warm, loving environment filled with educational activities. We open at 6:45 am and close at 5:45 pm. Morning snack, hot lunch, and an afternoon snack are provided for child care.

There is also before and after-school child care available up through 5th grade, as well as the new Crusader Student Center for 6th through 12th grades. The school is closed two weeks during Christmas, one week for Easter, national holidays, and various special days outlined in our school calendar.  (Child care is still available four days of the Easter break week). Our pre-school session (for children as young as age 2 1/2 and potty-trained) is from 9:00 am until 12:30 pm and provides a solid base preparation for kindergarten.

The pre-school curriculum includes daily Bible devotion time, learning upper and lower-case letters, sounds, blends, beginning number concepts, science projects, large and small motor skills, and many more fun activities including music and art.  Indoor and outdoor playtime promotes social skills and healthy adjustments. In addition, we have a 10-week “Crusader Kids” summer camp program for ages 1 through 5, and the “Crusader Summer Camps” program for ages 5 - 12, with a wonderful variety of theme camps to choose from.
